About Us

OfficeLady.Moe aims to be the largest curated database of anime characters that identify as an Office Lady online. OfficeLady.Moe is the second curated database site from the creator of AbsoluteTerritory.Moe, a database of Zettai Ryoiki in anime.

An office lady is defined as an employed young adult woman, often working in a corporate environment. Office ladies can be identified by their business suits, pencil skirts, pantyhose and kitten heels among other common choices in attire. Common professions include secretary, teacher, nurse, and police officer.

There is a general stigma that persists within old-fashioned Japanese companies that the role of an office lady is limited in scope and those who hold these positions are expected to leave the workforce once they get married and have children; assumingely before the age of 25. However, as women gain equal rights in male-dominated industries within Japan and modern-day socioeconomics impact preconceived and outdated career paths, the role has evolved to gain more respect and upward mobility within a company.

You may navigate around the website via our search bar at the top of each page or by utilizing the menus on each side: one sorted by clothing style, one sorted by occupation and one sorted by year the character appeared in an anime. There are also a variety of detailed tags that can be found within each character’s official page.

Note: Character pages are not sorted based on when they first appeared. Characters also do not have new pages for every single different anime season, series, or film they appear in. Furthermore, as this site is still ever-evolving, there are still countless office ladies that haven’t been added to the site. You can navigate to the front page or our Twitter to view the latest character additions to the site.

Given the breath of young adult women in anime, we currently only allow characters who are clearly identifiable as a variety of office lady on this site. Their clothing must be appropriate attire to work in, slotting into one of our clothing categories, with undergarments completely covered. If a character is a young adult female but does not demonstrate in their anime that they are a member of the workforce, whether it be via their clothing or actions, then they do not qualify for this site. The lone exception to this criteria is young adult women who identify as housewives since being a mother is the toughest job in the world and they deserve the respect they’ve earned. Young adult women who appear in fantasy or sci-fi settings (settings that otherwise do not conform to the real world) will be judged on a case-by-case basis given already announced qualifying standards. Young adult women who are a different species than human are subject to the same standards as human women.

For the sake of keeping this site as SFW as possible, images or GIFs of office ladies that depict nudity are not accepted.

Currently, we do not allow fan art or cosplay photos of anime characters on our site. If a fan art image has been placed on our website by mistake, please get into contact with us so that we may remedy the situation.

In an effort to keep the site free-to-use, we have two funding models we utilize if you’d like to support our site: our soon-to-be added Google Adsense ad placements or our soon-to-be launched shop.

In the future, if and when we plan on expanding the site’s content beyond images and GIFs from anime or its promotional artwork, we will continue to abide our rule against fan creations.
